Hood
You can turn on a light and run a fan by pulling the hood out from the wall. The control switches are inside the hood panel.
Hobs
The four knobs on the right of the range control the hobs. Place an induction safe pan on the hob and turn the matching knob. The pans in the middle drawer to the left of the range are suitable. You’ll hear a low hum cycling when it heats. Do use a tiny bit of oil or butter, as dry cooking leads to black soot that is hard to remove.
Oven
The first knob controls the grill, the upper oven compartment.
The second knob sets how the bottom oven compartment operates. The modes include: bake, broil, convection, and so on. The third knob sets the temperature of the bottom oven.
All functions are off when the knobs are all pointing straight up.

Wood Burning Stove
The heating system can keep the cottage quite cosy and warm. If you wish to enjoy a nice fire, you should find a small stash of wood and starter supplies around the ground floor stove. Allow the fire to die down before you leave or go to bed. Please keep children away.
We found the easiest way to get a good fire going is as follows
Open the flue with the lever at the top right of the stove to about half way
Open the air vent all the way by rotating the round dial at the bottom of the door full right toward the open circle icon
Build a cone of fire wood with the smallest pieces at the bottom and larger pieces leaning together or crosswise at the top. Ensure there is plenty of space for air to flow around the logs
Place the starter at the very bottom and light it with a match
The small pieces should burn quickly and ignite the larger pieces above in a short while
Close and latch the door when you’ve finished tending the fire and adjust the airflow as needed
To extinguish, simply close the flue and air vent by moving them all the way to the left. The fire will die down as it is starved of oxygen.
If you want more firewood, the local grocery stores and DIY stores often sell bags.
